Many people heard about separate nutrition, but not everyone knows the advantages of this method.
The principles of separate nutrition are scientifically based and experienced by many people.
Since ancient times doctors of Roman Empire recommended to combine products carefully and even to eat some kinds of products separately from others. Avicenna didn’t recommend to drink milk with sour products. He also believed that if people eat different food, the risk of overeating is reduced. Modern scientists believe that many diseases and poor health depend on the sequence of consumed food. Scientists explain that in order to provide normal digestion of various products, different enzymes are required. If a person eats proteins and carbohydrates taken together, the body produces two different enzymes, which require a specific environment (acidic and alkaline), opposing each other. If nutrition is not right, the digestion of products slows, which leads to discomfort and poor health.
Thus, the degree of assimilation depends on medium, in which products are digested. These products require acidic medium: protein foods, meat, fish, seafood, eggs, milk, low-fat cheese, seed fruits (apples, pears, etc.), stone fruits (apricots, cherries, plums and so on.), exotic (except bananas) and citrus fruits, berries, fruit teas and juices, dry and demi-sec wines, champagne, soy products.
These products require alkaline medium: all cereals, flour products, some vegetables (potatoes, green cabbage), tomatoes and spinach, fresh bananas, dates, figs, dried apricots, raisins, candy, beer.
Both acid and alkaline medium are necessary for such products: leafy vegetables, onions, cabbages (except green), leguminous plants, peppers, fresh tomatoes, carrots, rutabagas, beets, eggplants, cucumbers, zucchini, pumpkin, garlic, asparagus, celery, mushrooms, dairy products, fat and cottage cheese (cheese), various fats, nuts and seeds (except peanuts), avocados, olives, spices, jelly, mineral water, herbal teas, vegetable juices.
If you have decided to follow the separate nutrition, you need to remember:
— You should not mix protein products and carbohydrate products;
— Eat more neutral products;
— In the afternoon try not to eat protein products;
— The interval between the meals should be about four hours;
— Do not abuse the semis and canned goods. Nutritionists also do not recommend combining carbohydrate and acidic foods (potatoes and tomatoes), different kinds of protein, fats with proteins, starch with sugar, melons and milk with other products.
